SilverRack's network will become unavailable at 8am MST on December 28th, 2007 for approximately 20 minutes.
Our datacenter staff will be performing diagnostic checks on our circuit to try and resolve a connection speed
issue. Resolving this issue will provide a connection speed increase to all of our customers.
We hope this does not cause an inconvience. We try hard to limit our "downtime", and in fact,
in the last 6 months, this will be our first scheduled downtime.
Did you know there is a page on the Wiki for you to tell us about yourself? Visit the SilverRack Customers Wiki and add yourself to the list. Please spend a few minutes to tell us about yourself and what you use your SilverRack VPS for.
We apologize that the SilverRack.com site has been up and down this evening. The addition of the Wiki caused the VPS that silverrack.com is running on to run out of memory. We quickly upped those parameters and did a reboot. On the reboot however, the VPS failed to properly initialize it's networking information (the VPS hadn't been rebooted in months!), so that took the site down for just over an hour. We're still experiencing intermitent issues with the control panel and how it performs snapshots and recreates of the VPSs. We are working on these and will be back to 100% shortly.
*Update* All memory issues for SilverRack.com and the new Wiki have been resolved.
Hey Everyone - We just opened up a shiny new Wiki on SilverRack. Anyone can register for an account and contribute. We're looking for any tips and tricks you have for running your Linux and Ruby on Rails apps. There's also a Customers page that you're more than welcome to put a link to your company.
*Update* So, the Wiki update hasn't gone as smooth as we'd hoped. For starters, the UI looks fine in Firefox and Safari, and some versions of IE. But IE 6 and 7 are both causing some formatting issues. The update and addition to PHP to our web server has caused some memory issues that have required us to up the VPS memory the site is on, and also reboot the VPS. Fear not - we're working diligently to correct the issues.
